Selectable Drive Modes
Designed to help improve your driving experience and handling on varying road surfaces. The different modes are Eco, Sport, Normal, Slippery and Deep Snow/Sand. Once selected, each one of these driving modes can modify the electronic stability control and traction control systems without further input from you.

When equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package, Escape Titanium and SEL with the available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine have a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. and Escape Hybrid or Escape Plug-in Hybrid* with the 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine have a maximum towing capacity of 1,500 lbs. **

AWD with AWD Disconnect
The available All-Wheel Drive with AWD Disconnect can disable the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain. AWD not available on Escape Plug-in Hybrid.
Choose From Multiple Powertrains and Hybrid Technologies
The 2022 Escape has a choice of hybrid or plug-in hybrid with a 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid engine. A 1.5L EcoBoost® and the 2.0L EcoBoost with Auto Start-Stop Technology are the available gas engines.
